Emma Herbert was selected onto the Women Engineering Society Youth board at Arcadis

Emma graduated with a MEng (Hons) Civil & Coastal Engineering from Plymouth University.

Currently working for Arcadis Consulting where she has been involved with a wide range of projects, Emma also won the ‘Graduate of the Year prize at Arcadis and was recently shortlisted for the Women in Construction Rising Star Category.

Emma says “Having obtained a degree in civil engineering, I am conscious that many young females don’t recognise this as a career choice. Within my degree only 8% of us were girls! If my mum hadn’t suggested engineering as a career, I wouldn’t be here now. I am delighted to be part of the WES YMB, as this will give me the opportunity to promote our industry and give more women the opportunity to consider engineering as a career.”
